I've got, say, 10 RPs I started and no one joined (for example). Then I join an RP, right? Well the new RP is at the bottom of an 11-RP list. Because the Multiverse takes up 5 posts on the "Recent posts" list at all times, and there's a chance other RPs I'm in might have posted, I've now got to scroll aaaaaallllll the way down to XXX roleplay, going past ZZZ, YYY, WWW, and the awfully-written AMZDF.
Past that, I don't like taking up RPGW's resources in manpower or server space-
If I want an RP marked "Closed," I have to get a moderator to do it for me, right? I'm taking that moderator away from his station in the Multiverse/from other RPs who may need him/her to deal with my bad RP.
And closing the RP still leaves it "In the system," right?
So that means, no matter how few microbytes of information my RP may take in your rented information space, I'm hogging resources I don't have any right to squander just because I personally lack the ability to remove my own RP from internet existence.

This could lead to abuse-a mad GM takes down a whole 500+ post RP, deleting cherished characters and memories, over something stupid like the players decide that sparkling vampires are stupid and they would prefer the RP goes in a new, more realistic direction. But so can't anything added to RPGW? A fair Gm would, of course, contact active players beforehand, or simply not delete it at all if it is ongoing.

I'm talking about that ending piece, "#Post-war_career_and_legacy", and how it automatically scrolls the user down to the referenced section.

I want to be able to do something like "for more information on characterX's abilities, see [url=http...#some_section]this section[/url]" and have that translate into them doing directly to the section I want them to see.

As it is now, people will only be transported to the top of, say, a Character Sheet when I want them to see something somewhere in the middle.

This character sheet could be hundreds or even thousands of words long.

Perhaps a new tag. An "id" tag, in the form of [id=somesection]. Then these sections could be referenced in URLs with http...roleplaygateway.com....#somesection

Unless I'm missing something and this is possible already...

As one who has run multiple role-plays in the two years I've been on this site, I have a few suggestions which I think a lot of people will either agree with, or have posted already.

First, the OOC seems a little too accessible. As one who often creates OOC threads which are meant to strictly be informative instead of conversational, I think the GM should be able to moderate whether or not people can post in the threads they create. An option for "open access" and "closed" to posting from the other players for instance. This way, when a thread is there for conversation, the GM can make it open to everyone. When they don't want other people posting in a specific thread (since a lot of people don't pay attention when they ask for others not to post) they should have the option to close it.

Next, and this is just my opinion on the matter, although I think it would help, I think that the GM should be able to create a character skeleton which ends up as a page all its own instead of just an outline on the RP main page. Create a clickable button for "Character Skeleton" that exists on the Character Application page, and you are taken to a page that contains the skeleton designed by the GM of that RP so that you have access to the exact specifications of the GM. I know that you can create a skeleton in print, but there's never a guarantee that everyone will follow it and fill out all the information. In fact, most people don't, and that ticks me off as a GM. Also, each box of information on the skeleton should have a minimum word requirement which is also controlled by the GM so that there are no people submitting profiles with only one short sentence in each box. Those kinds of people don't deserve to submit a profile in my opinion.

Next is something I've seen before, but slightly modified in idea. I think that the RP should have both a rating and a "difficulty level" so that everyone knows where the RP's stand and which ones would be best suited to their experience level. Also, providing a guide to both would be a good idea as well. This would help everyone to see whether or not, depending on their comfort level with the factors involved in the RP (such as violence, magic, language, or explicit material), they'd wish to join. A few people wished to join a few of my RP's before, but when I told them about the violence, language, or magical nature of the RP's, they shied away either because of personal issues with such factors, or because their faith prevented them from believing in them and thus they didn't join because of it.

I believe this was mentioned before as well, but I'd like to suggest it again and voice my positive vote for such an idea. GM's should be able to flag or ban certain players from the RP's. However, the flagging should not be a negative only option. If a GM thinks that a certain player was a fantastic addition to the RP, they should be able to flag them as a strong and positive influence. As there are trolls, there are also wonderful players who deserve respect and admiration from those they role-play with. However, this does not negate the flip side to that coin. If someone is a troll or a problematic and flaky player, they should be flagged as such so that others know to be wary around them. There are always those who cannot commit all the time due to work or school, and they should be given their respective amount of patience. But there are also players who join and never post, or who join and only post a few times before dropping out without a word or even deleting their character. Those players should be avoided.

Sometimes I see roleplays being posted when there's another- perhaps a recently created one- that's also open. I know that this is a waste of the person's time, ultimately, as the roleplay won't be as popular since there's one just like it already in existence. To cut out some of that, perhaps, after entering tags and/or a description for a new roleplay, it would list a few recent, open roleplays that are similar to the one you want to create. This could help cut down on roleplays that are highly similar to existing ones, encourage users to find ways to make theirs unique, and help cut down on High School/College roleplays.

Groups...Wow.
As the lucky person who created/own/"runs" one of the largest groups in the Multiverse (20+ players)...

Groups are work.
Groups are a lot of work.
Groups are like roleplays within roleplays, and I find myself scrambling to update the page, to add players, to link bundles...To keep up with the activity of 20+ players.

I propose groups allow to be co-gm'd, in addition to adding an "archive" button.

The co-gm option would allow others to edit the content of the group page, as well as add players to the group. I don't know all too well how the GMing system works, as I've never used it, but things that I see being catastrophic should they be edited by a raging player who was slighted and feels the need for revenge are the logos and the player removal. Those are two huge potential weapons: Graffiti and shame.

It would also allow the work load to be delegated, and allow for more than one person to appear to be in charge of a group. This would also help keep groups active over longer periods of time, for if a GM feels the need to step down from the group or leave, the group doesn't have to suffer with their absence. Or, if there is an IN Character Takeover, the power can be shifted.

Unsure how I feel about the original creator of the group potentially being unable to be removed as a group "gm". a GroupMaster? I don't know. In one hand, I feel like always having the creator linked to the group is good. It kinda honors the player, like look at this cool thing you started it's going on forever yay! On the other hand, it could cause some serious Meta.
"This is MY GROUP I STARTED IT i dont CARE what happened In character last year while I was gone THIS IS MY GROUP."

I guess that's something that is more a case-by-case scenario?

The archive button is so if something happens in the group, say one player rages and deletes everything from spite, all past work can be pulled back up again and restored.
Or, say you derp while editing and accidentally erase something super important that you can no way re-write.

I know this probably takes memory and storage space and what not, and that overwriting previous archives is a bad idea (see: ragespiteplayer/acciderp). The archival doesn't have to be fancy, or have a preview mode. Just a blank page with the code on it, or whatever, as long as it's archived.

I know you said that mobile access isn't a priority to us role players, but for a long period of time, my computer died and I had to use my phone to access the website. The website is brilliant on the computer, but it was really frustrating on my phone and I kept accidentally logging out (due to the top banner thing changing size when you zoom it) or when I typed, I wouldn't be able to see what I was doing as the text didn't show up even though it was actually there.

I know quite a few people also use the site just to check on activity in their recent roleplays but it's just very hard to navigate on a phone. I understand this isn't a priority and that most people use the site on their laptops/computers, but I think adding in a phone website would be a great convenience to many people.
